Four biologists from Tjóðsavnið participated at the Annual Meeting of the Icelandic Ecological Society (Vistfræðifélag Íslands) 16th - 17th april 2021. Due to Corona, the conference took place online via Zoom and was with 160 registered participants much bigger than in the previous years.

The conference programm contained 57 oral talks in ten sessions and 17 poster presentations on a broad range of ecological topics from fish behaviour to grazing pressure on sub-Arctic ecosystems. In addition, there was a special session on invasive plant species with an expert panel discussion. Tjóðsavnið contributed to the conference with a poster titled “The beetle fauna of the island of Koltur and a new record for the Faroe Islands”.

The conference was very stimulating and provided an excellent opportunity for networking with colleagues from Iceland and other Nordic countries. The Icelandic Ecological Society is part of the Nordic Society Oikos which brings together ecologists from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and the Faroes.
